Simo Westerholm's 1983 Reisaavaisen laulu Amerikkaan: Siirtolaislauluja was a joint publication of the Kaustinen Folk Music Institute and the Central Organization of Folk Music. Bringing together a wide range of songs related to the migration of Finnish-speaking Finns to North America, the work aimed at making these songs available to modern singers as well as historians and others interested in the movement of Finnish people to the United States and Canada during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
